Socialite Rebecca Grossman Sentenced to 15 Years to Life for Hit-and-Run that Killed Two Boys

Wealthy Co-Founder of Burn Center Foundation Faces Consequences for Tragic Incident

In a shocking turn of events, a wealthy California woman who dedicated much of her life to supporting a burn center foundation has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for her role in a tragic hit-and-run incident that claimed the lives of two young brothers. Rebecca Grossman, the co-founder of the Grossman Burn Center Foundation, was found guilty of second-degree murder in connection with the 2020 deaths of 11-year-old Mark Iskander and his 8-year-old brother, Jacob.

Speeding, Alcohol Allegedly Factors in Fatal Crash

According to prosecutors, Grossman, who was 60 years old at the time of the incident, had been consuming alcohol prior to the crash. She is alleged to have been racing with another driver when she struck the two boys as they crossed the street in Westlake Village. Both boys died at the scene.

Grossman's sentencing marks a dramatic fall from grace for a woman once known for her philanthropic work. As co-founder of the Grossman Burn Center Foundation, she had been actively involved in supporting burn victims for over two decades. The foundation, established in 1998, provides financial assistance and support to burn survivors and their families.

The sentencing hearing was a somber affair, with family members of the victims expressing their heartbreak and anger. Grossman herself apologized for her actions, saying she was "deeply sorry" for the pain she had caused. However, the judge ruled that her remorse did not outweigh the severity of her crime.
