A Proud History

The Scottish Football Association (SFA) is the governing body for football in Scotland. It was founded in 1873, making it the second oldest football association in the world, after The Football Association in England.

The Scottish National Team

The Scotland national football team represents Scotland in men's international football. The team is controlled by the SFA and has been a member of FIFA since 1910 and UEFA since 1954.

Scotland has a proud footballing history, having won the British Home Championship a record 26 times. The team has also reached the FIFA World Cup finals eight times, the most recent being in 1998. Scotland has also reached the UEFA European Championship finals three times, the most recent being in 1996.

Domestic Football

The Scottish football league system is made up of four divisions: the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish Championship, the Scottish League One, and the Scottish League Two. The Premiership is the top division of Scottish football and is contested by 12 clubs.

The most successful club in Scottish football history is Rangers, with 55 league titles. Celtic is the second most successful club, with 52 league titles.

The future of Scottish football is bright. The Scotland national team is currently ranked 45th in the FIFA World Rankings, and the country has a number of talented young players coming through the ranks.
